We had one day off in Lille and went to have drinks with the MH crew & band, nice night. Then we played in a lovely club with a lovely, listening and enthusiastic audience at L’Aeronef, Lille. The day after we went to Paris, to first do a small performance at Radio Nova (yeay, finally I met some of the faces behind the voices..) which was great fun. They welcomed Benny with a lot of love. After, we went to La Gaïté Lyrique and experienced once again a great attentive crowd, who sang along with most of the songs.. Lovely!
While writing this we’re back in Holland, after some (not so silent, but still nice) concerts in Doornroosje, Paradiso and Oosterpoort, now for a short day off to do some laundry.. Leaving for Germany tomorrow, looking forward!
We had one day off in Manchester and enjoyed ourselves very well with record stores, boutiques, coffee bars and great Asian food. Playing in Manchester was nice too. When we went to Glasgow, I forgot my phone at the hotel in Manchester, so unfortunately there are no pictures of this great Harry-Potter-esque city. We loved it!
In Bristol we played on a smelly and sticky boat, but with a great crowd, so it was actually rewarding. On day 6 we took the van (and truckers train) to France so now we’re in Lille and I can finally impress the rest of the group with my quasi-French. We’ll play at L’Aeronef tonight, so if you’re around, please drop by…………. Tomorrow: PARIS!
Long bus ride, luckily accompanied (and driven) by Joris, Jochem and later joined by Tim Extraa. Arrived at Scala London, met Mayer, band and crew, had some pizza and played our first show! The audience seemed to love it and so did we! Thanks. Afterwards we witnessed for the first time the show of Mayer Hawthorne & The County -> very tight and polished, really nice. It’ll be a great tour. Manchester tomorrow!

A sketch that I made mostly with my ‘late’ Crumar DS-2 that I sold to ‘Je suis Jelte‘-Heringa. I feel some nostalgic pain but I wish him lots of fun with this machine (knowing him that will be alright). This is a song to say goodbye. Enjoy.
Quick news flash: THE FULLY FRESH AND NEW BENNY SINGS BAND will do a preview and try-out gig (before hitting Europe with Mayer H.) this friday at STUDIO K in Amsterdam. Please all come and.. eh.. just come, we’d like that.
Good news! Benny Sings will be the opening act during the European tour of Mayer Hawthorne. Together with my good friend Tim Dudek, I will be part of the new Benny band. Doing what I should be doing. I’m very happy to do this tour through (Western) Europe, finally I can play for my friends in Paris too. Check this list of dates to see where Benny has been added as a guest. Check out this beautiful video that Peter Vandrie made with his girlfriend Avi Krispin and some other friends! This thursday he will present an EP with four tracks (free download!), preceding the upcoming debut album, at Club 3voor12/Utrecht. Last summer I’ve had the honor to record for this album, with a great group of musicians and we had a great time too.. Can’t wait for the full album to be released!
